Scopeia

• After calibrating the apparatus with one of the standard solutions, rinse the conductivity cell several times with carbon dioxide-free water prepared from distilled water
• Rinse the conductivity cell at least twice with the aqueous solution to be examined.
• Measure the conductivity of the Sample solution while gently stirring with a magnetic stirrer (C₁) at the temperature prescribed in the monograph
• Measure the conductivity of the water used for preparing the Sample solution (C2) at the same temperature.
• The readings must be stable within 1% over a period of 30 s.
• Calculation:

Result = C₁ – C₂

C1 = conductivity of the Sample solution

C2 = water used for preparing the Sample solution
