- After calibrating the apparatus with one of the standard solutions, rinse the conductivity cell several times with carbon dioxide-free water prepared from distilled water
- Rinse the conductivity cell at least twice with the aqueous solution to be examined.
- Measure the conductivity of the Sample solution while gently stirring with a magnetic stirrer (C1) at the temperature prescribed in the monograph
- Measure the conductivity of the water used for preparing the Sample solution (C2) at the same temperature.
- The readings must be stable within 1% over a period of 30 s.
- Calculation:
Result = C1 – C2
C1 = conductivity of the Sample solution
C2 = water used for preparing the Sample solution
